Information System in Industrial Engineering, UI

Information systems helps organization in managing data as an asset, either collected or presented by information systems, which are possible to be implemented for problem solving and management decisions making.

Information system according to McLeod is a system that has the ability to collect information from all sources and use various media to display information. Meanwhile, O’Brien stated that the notion of information systems is a combination of each unit managed by people, hardware, software, computer networks, and data communication networks (communications), and databases that change, modify, and change information about the form of the organization.

The purpose of information systems is to produce information. The information system is data that is processed into a form that is useful for its users. Even processed data is not sufficient to be said as information. In order to be used, there must be three pillars as follows:
1. Relevance
2. Punctuality
3. Accurate
